Easter Sunday

It was a beautiful Easter Sunday.  Dad enjoyed singing in the choir.  The kids enjoyed their new outfits and Easter baskets (especially the dinosaurs).  We all enjoyed dinner and an egg hunt at a family's house.
Simple baskets this year with two dinosaurs, an egg and a chocolate bunny.

It was really tricky to find the eggs in the large field of long grass...but so fun!

We also had a lovely dinner and talent show.  Our kids sang together, "Gethsemane."

Hard Workers

On Saturday morning at 8 am we showed up at the church and helped clean.  The kids got compliments on what great helpers they were.  We cleaned the grounds and also the classrooms.  They all found ways to help.  After arriving home we decided to borrow Bro-in-law's truck and get some beauty bark for our gardens.  Dad drove the truck out to get three large loads of dirt and we still don't have enough to finish our garden out front.  The kids were ecstatic to help.  #2 Boy helped mostly with his little shovel, #1 Girl brought the wheel burrow back to the truck, #3 Girl loved raking the dirt out with her dad and #4 Boy worked a little on all the tasks.  The highlight for the kids though was digging in the dirt in the truck.
Everyone working away
While Dad went to get more dirt I worked on mowing the grass, since we finally got a lawn mower.  It was super tall and a lot of the time I was carrying #5 Boy in his carrier.  That evening we watched  sis-in-law's kids while they went on a date.  I stopped mowing when they arrived and the lawnmower sat like this for a while.  While I watched the little ones, Dad finished up doing more yard work.  A lot of people at church commented on our yard since it is a main area to pass by and a few commented on what hard workers the kids were.
On Monday The kids were wrestling Dad.  After a while they decided to doggy pile each other.  Then #4 Boy wanted Dad on top of him.  The others agreed and we ended up with this!
That night for Family Home Evening we got around to planting the flowers that the kids had picked earlier.  Each child picked a plant and also a spot to plant it.

Salt Lake City - Temple Grounds

Mid-tour of the Conference Center we run into sister-in-law and kids.  After that we ran into them a few other times.  This is a shot of them on top of the Conference Center that I got as we enter Temple Square.

They were about 20 minutes behind our family as we went about SLC...and she stayed longer too!

My kids at the reflection pond with SLC Temple.

I stopped inside this building to nurse #5 Boy, who has just about had it by that point.  The kids loved watching the big screens that talked about the temple and looking at the model of the temple.  If you look out the window there, the temple is right there.

Another building houses large pictures of Jesus.  #2 Boy wanted a picture by himself

So of coarse #3 Girl did too (#4 Boy was sad he wasn't going to be in the picture)

#1 Girl wanted #5 Boy in the picture with her and was my good helper pushing him around.

They have the most beautiful display of flowers

The kids were wondering why I was taking pictures of flowers

Thinking I should make my garden look like this!

#1 Girl suggested, "Why don't you get a picture of us AND the flowers."  How could I say no to that?!
