Benches #1: Beginning of Building the Benches

The End Product: Beautiful Nook Benches!

These benches we are building using the old built-in desk from the reading nook.  We also had to buy a lot of additional wood to make it look the way we want them and have storage functionality also.  They are really complicated because every wall is a different size meaning all the angles for all the pieces have to be different and then they all have to fit together next to each other.  But, I really wanted my benches to be different pieces so I could move a piece or two if I wanted.  The first one took a long time and still isn't done.  That is how projects go at our home.  We will probably mostly be working weekends on it, so it will take FOREVER!  After getting all the wood parts cut and together we also have to paint/stain them, and then buy and cut cushions AND cover them.  Yeah, sounding like a forever project.

This is what the first one looked like before we got supports in for the top wood.  Three of them will be close to this shape and the other two will be flat on one side.
