Butterfly in the Sky

These butterflies came to us are little small caterpillars and before our eyes changed into butterflies.  Now the butterflies are in the sky!  Sadly we lost one as a caterpillar.  #3 Girl wept for it.  Another one got stuck coming out of it's chrysalis.  After it struggled for 24+ hours Dad decided to see if he could help.  We think that the chrysalis got some webbing from the lid around it and made it hard for the butterfly to emerge.  It ended up with a bent wing and it's head stuck.  We were sad to see it die.

Dad tried to help the struggling butterfly only because it had been SO long.

It was hanging right over where a caterpillar had created the hole.   This picture shows two empty chrysalis's the broken one that struggled to get out and one as a butterfly inside.  It emerged the next day.

#3 Girl reaching in to hold one of the butterflies.  We had three butterflies and manged to get the four kids a turn to hold them before letting them fly away.

#5 Boy didn't hold the butterflies but is a doll.  I have been trying to get some of his cute faces caught on camera.
