Flying Fish

What do you do to teach about flying fish?  Well, we figured out a few things.  We enjoyed some clips about flying fish: BBC and 45 sec fish.  We also practiced writing out Flying Fish.  We talked about how the flying fish propels itself out the of water by flipping it's tail back and forth really fast, how the fins stick out so that it can glide through the air and even counted through the record time for a flying fish to be seen out of water which was 45 seconds.  As #2 Boy says, "Was it STILL flying?  That is a LONG time!" 

#2 Boy also made this flying fish that bounces off the page. 

 We mostly worked on a Flying Fish Mobile.  It had one main fish with little flying fish all around him.  #2 Boy loved working on this and was excited with the end result.  Especially when we turned on the fan above it and it would spin around and around.
