Salt Lake County Fair

I LOVED the view of the demolition derby: Ferris Wheel, Temple, and  Mountains!
 Rides
On Thursday I had the older three kids complete their 25 word summaries for three books they had read allowing them to go on three free rides.  That evening we took the kids to the fair and bought some tickets for Dad, Myself, and the younger children.  Dad and I would have been fine skipping the rides but had to go on some of them with the older kids that aren't tall enough to ride alone but want to go on the fun rides.  It was a beautiful evening out and there weren't any lines.
That double stroller sure fits a lot of kids

and #7 Boy hung out with me (literally :-)

Buying tickets

Dad and some of the kids going on a ride that went on forever since the one controlling it was busy texting.

#6 Boy, #5 Boy and #7 Boy were my buddies

#6 Boy and #5 Boy went on the boat ride

Dad went with #3 Girl on this one, last year I went on it and got light headed!

#1 Girl and #2 Boy

Bots peeking through watching the big kids

#6 Boy played in the dirt again this year and was happy!

#5 Boy really wanted to go on the Merry-Go-Round but it was closed when we first got there so we got it later

Dad voted that I got to go on the spinning ride to help give more spin.  The kids did pretty good spinning it, but I did put a little extra into it and by the end Isaac was pale and done!

#1 Girl had her heart set to go on the Zipper.  Dad braved it with her.

#1 Girl decided that she kind of liked it.  She says she doesn't want to do it next year but maybe the year after.
Demolition Derby
On Saturday night we joined a bunch of family for the demolition derby.  Brother got the group together and it was fun to visit between heats.  Neighbors also invited us to sit by them and we saw other neighbors there.  I think maybe next year we will need to get a group from the neighborhood together!
(Dad also took most of the kids to see the animals while we waited for the derby to start).
Our crew!

Hit into the mound

Speeding along

I was a little nervous how the little ones would do with it so long and late, but they were really pretty good.  #6 Boy was happy but kept bumping the people in front of us.

These boys were fun to watch!

This guy got stuck in the mound and encouraged a couple of other cars to hit him even more

Handsome

The Trucks and Women competitions were my favorite.  Even got a couple fires

On Monday night for FHE we had our own little demolition derby crashing into each others cars to see who would flip.
Thank you Salt Lake County Fair...until next year!
Just don't let my kids start begging for it again in the early spring!
