Getting Dressed

Oh why do I let my kids dress themselves?!

#2 Boy got himself ready for church.  He started on the bottom button and worked his way up... but the bottom button was an extra button.

And #3 Girl...words can't say enough.  Dress, Jeans, Boots and Gloves.  Perfect!

And #4 Boy... Well, I won't tell you what fun it is in the morning trying to get him to put on something besides pajamas.  Oh you do want to know.  It lasted an hour the other day and we took #1 Girl to school with #4 Boy in a pajama top and a diaper.  He has also been very picky about what shirt and pants he is willing to put on.  Then yesterday I was sorting through shoes and he found some hiking boots that are WAY too big that he insists are HIS new COWBOY boots. 

However, there are times they get it right....

How to Peel an Orange

First you pick at it creating a little hole

Then pull at the skin a bit

Try cutting it with a knife while holding both sides open (you might need a third hand).

Then try pulling chucks of it apart.

And when that doesn't work.... Hand the oranges over to Mom to peel.

Learning is Doing...

The kids are great at learning to do things on their own when they are feeling happy and have an idea of what they want to accomplish.  I love watching them DO things.  They learn little things with each project they take on.

#2 Boy made a home and tunnel for his Zhu Zhu pets.

#1 Girl wanted to copy all the words to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"

#1 Girl drew a princess to put crowns on.  She told me some of her hair is in front of her shoulders like #1 Girl's is some times.

The Primary aged kids went to an activity at the church.  As you can see from the following pictures I am sure they learned a lot ;-)  They were given these cute folders with different paper games in them that they have been playing all week.

Today #1 Girl wanted me to help count her money, but she started studying the money so I started to explain how much each coin was worth.  

The kids are also learning to put their laundry away.  Each kid has a bin that I am folding clothes into and then they take them and put them away.
