Bad vs. Good

We got all the boxes out of our home yesterday.  As we were sitting on the floor both Dad and I noticed how much worse carpet looks when you compare it next to the good unused carpet.  I think life is a lot like this.  The carpet gets worn down over time and we don't really realize how bad it is.  We know it is looking darker and isn't in great condition but it isn't as noticeable when the good carpet is covered or gone.  I think this must be how the wicked men felt when the prophets would tell them what they were doing wrong or even in our society today as people get a little dirtier, if the 'carpet' next the them is also dirty the don't stick out as bad.  Sometimes it is easier to make all the carpet dirty rather than see the difference or to replace or clean the carpet.
