DIY Dr. Seuss Truffula Trees

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday 110th birthday on March 2nd we decided to make some truffula trees.
Drawn by #1 Girl

At first we were going to make all of the trees with pens, but I LOVE the look of them without pens.  It was a quick, easy, fun project to do with the children.

Some striped pipe cleaners, puffy balls, pens and hot glue will do the trick.
1. We started at the top of the pen and simply wrapped the pen with the pipe cleaner.

2. Once wrapped with hot glued the puffy balls on top.
3. Then put them in a pot.
They were a little short and fat, so we decided to do some with out the pens.  We placed some pebbles in the bottom of the pots then simply glued the ball to the top of the pipe cleaner and bent the pipe cleaners so they would stand in the pebbles.
