California Trip - Day 2 - Beach and Travel

The second day we spent the morning at the beach.  We had planned on getting back in time to jump in the heated pool at the hotel and enjoy the view.  However, that didn't happen by the time we got everything cleaned up.  So, we figured we'd just head to our next hotel and going swimming there later.  We got up to our second hotel with time to spare so the kids played at McDonalds after lunch there and then we checked into the hotel.  After checking in we walked over to Disneyland and decided to go down the strip of shopping for the evening.  The kids loved walking through the Disney shop but they really enjoyed the Lego Store where they could build things out of Legos.  After playing for a bit we let each of the children pick one thing from the Disney Store.  Then we told them that we had to also buy one last thing, a lovey for the new baby.  The older kids were positive that I was teasing when I told them there was a baby in my belly but finally came around.  Most of us agreed on getting Eeyore for the new baby but #4 Boy wanted to get Pluto...he was so insistent that he decided to spend his own money on it to give to the new baby.  We headed out with Jamba Juice or our walk home.  We had promised the kids a swim in the the pool so even though it was getting late we all got in our swim suits and headed to the pool.  Once we got there we found out that this one was NOT heated.  It was freezing cold.  Dad was bribing the older kids to go all the way in for a candy bar.  #1 Girl and #2 Boy ended up doing a bomb jump from the side and then got Dad to bomb jump in also.  #3 Girl eased her way under almost all the way but #4 Boy was only willing to go to about his hips.  They were trying to get him to get his belly button in but he just wasn't going to go down that far.  #5 Boy, #6 Boy and I were the wise ones that stayed far away from the water!   Not the swimming experience we had expected but it was still loads of fun!
