Groundhog's Day

On Groundhog's Day #2 Boy asked, "Mom, can we make a quilt and do a different patch every holiday?  Is today a holiday?"  I figured that was a pretty fun idea.  When Grandma got home #2 Boy asked her for some fabric and she even had fabric crayons.  These were the Groundhog's Day patches.
#3 Girl's and #2 Boy's. #2 Boy's shows the groundhog and it's shadow.

#4 Boy had some help with his, but he loves it anyway.

Later, the kids decided to put on a groundhog day play.

Coloring at 7 Months

I was holding #5 Boy on the table the other day while helping #1 Girl with her homework. #5 Boy kept reaching for the crayons so I decided to give him a crayon and paper and see what he did. He picked up the crayon and waved it back and forth so I put him on the floor for a little while and he played with the crayons.

Once There Was a Snowman...woman...girl

It started snowing this morning and the kids were delighted to go play in it.  While #1 Girl was at school #2 Boy made a snowball.  After lunch the kids went out again for a while and played some more after nap time.  This is the first snow person the kids made all by themselves.

It started as a ball...

 ....made into a snowman.....

...added a hat to make it a snow woman...

...but too small so it must be a snow girl.... (at least according to #1 Girl and #2 Boy)

The finished snow girl
has flowers and buttons for eyes and buttons, a carrot nose, a snow hat, and twig arms.

The kids also informed us that it is not falling over.  She is leaning back in a rocking chair.
