50 Gallon Tank

We have been wanting a large fish tank for a while but it hasn't been top priority or in the budget.  Dad's co-worker offered us this tank, stand, pumps and all that has been sitting in his garage.  We picked it up last week.  I thought it would probably hang out in the garage for a little while but Dad was ready to get it set up.  He spent a late night scrubbing it and getting it all ready.  On Saturday we brought it into the house and moved it around a couple of times finding the perfect spot for it.  Even though having it in front of the window will make some more work, I love how nicely it fits in this space.  We are now working on selling our couch and getting some chairs for that area.  I am hoping to end up with three chairs there.  On Saturday we hit The Aquarium and ended up buying 5 more fish.  We added the 2 fish and 2 frogs we had in our two gallon tank to the 50 gallon tank along with the 5 new fish.  On Monday they were all swimming along the top for way too long and after doing some reading I realized our temperature was too high and they weren't getting the oxygen they needed.  I am sure there are a lot more things we will learn having these pets!  So far they are all still alive and hopefully we will be getting some good bacteria build up so that we can add some more variety to our tank.

Dad was filling the tank with a bucket but the kids ended up wanting to do it cup full by cup full.  I thought I took a picture of the kids helping #5 Boy dump a cup full in but who knows what happened to it.
