Dad and I
were both feelings like something had to change when it came to our
scripture study. So, our current method is to have each kid read or
recite a verse. Everyone has their own Book of Mormon that they bring
to scripture study to follow along. On Monday the kids each made their
own book markers so they could find the spot easier.
#1 Girl is really the only one right now that can read out of the scriptures. It is interesting how many big words she can read guess, based on the scriptural language. That must mean she has been getting something out of our old reading.
The
other children listen to part of a sentence that Dad or I read and
then recite it back. #2 Boy likes to get ahead of us. Tonight before I
started reading anything he started, "And it came to pass..." He was
right on the money. Then I started to help him, "that according to his
word." #2 Boy repeated that and continued making up his own words, "that
according to his word they did not hearken.." at which point I cut him
off so that we could continue with what the scriptures really said, "he
did destroy them."
