Holding a wild stingray |
Our last Port of Call was Grand Cayman. It was probably our favorite port. We loved the Secret River Excursion but if we had to pick where we would love to bring the kids...the Grand Cayman wins. We did the Sea Turtles and Stingray Bar. We loved both parts of our excursion and thought that we had about the right amount of time at either place. The bus driver talked about the island as we traveled to and from either stop. It was interesting, informative, and beautiful!

Iguanas were everywhere! |
They started us off with the Turtle Farm. They have green sea turtles that they breed there and then release into the wild. At this stop we got to learn about, hold, and swim with the turtles. We loved holding the yearlings and swimming with the turtles!

Us! |
After the Turtle Farm we drove down to a boat and took a 30 minute boat ride out to the Stingray sandbar. It is a sandbar where wild stingray hangout. The water was about waist deep. It was beautiful! The stingrays were everywhere. They would swim through our legs initially startling me! We loved having guides with us that would hold up the stingray for kisses, petting and also letting us hold them! It was an adventure!

Back on board! Then the next day was rainy. We woke up in the night with waves crashing against the boat. We were glad the rainy day was just a day at sea!
